Computers are omnipresent in our lives, from helping us work and play to monitoring patients in hospitals and regulating crucial manufacturing processes. However, this ease of use comes with one drawback, as computers are a bigger threat to malicious coders.
Antivirus protection scans files and programs to identify threats. It acts as a real-time shield against cyber-attacks. It recognizes infected software and files by their telltale indication – two lines of assembly code that replaces the stack pointer, for instance and compares them against the database of known malware software. If the program is found to match the database, the antivirus software will stop it from running and send it to quarantine for thorough scan and analysis.
Unfortunately, malicious software developers are always creating new programs using distinctive and more subtle signatures, and antivirus programs have to constantly update their databases. The good news is that once a virus has been discovered and added to the database of detection it becomes much more difficult for hackers to http://avastantivirusinfo.com/secure-tech-innovations-for-sensitive-data-sharing-control use the same signature against other machines.
